A civil demonstration was staged in Jhapa,  the home district of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, jointly by various professionals, organizations, civil society leaders and parties on January 28 against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

The demonstration held in the border town of Kankadvitta had enthusiastic participation of youth, students, leaders of social organizations, teachers, journalists and businessmen. This is the first demonstration from the citizen's side in Jhapa against Oli's unconstitutional move.
