While the Prachanda Madhav faction was holding a state-level assembly in Dhangadhi on January 30, the Oli faction showed its strength by mobilizing a large number of its cadres in the district-level assembly in Prachanda's home district, Chitwan. The public assembly was held in Bharatpur with Prime Minister Oli and four other federal ministers.

Both sides of the divided Nepal Communist Party (NCP) are competing to hold a large public meeting after the first round of meetings. The KP Oli faction and Prachanda Madhav faction are preparing for the general assembly in Kathmandu on February 5 and 10.
