Private health institutes in Far-West under CIAA scanner

KANCHANPUR: The Far-Western Regional Office of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has started monitoring private hospitals in far-west region. The CIAA's Regional Office started monitoring, along with representatives from District Administration Office, District Public Health Office and Department of Drugs. The office started investigation after the CIAA headquarters directed it to monitor the private hospitals after receiving public complaints of irregularities in private health sector, said Under Secretary of the regional office, Bishnu Singh Bista. Bista said, "On our initial phase of the monitoring campaign, we will examine the clinics, nursing homes and medical stores." The office has already monitored around five dozens of private health clinics in Belauri and Bhimdutta municipalities. According to CIAA sources, preliminary report states that some of the clinics were found operated without registration.
