Cadres affiliated to Prachanda-Nepal faction of NCP has vandalized a car bearing plate number Me 1 Cha 1942 in Birtamod of Jhapa stating that the vehicle defied strike. NCP student leader Madan Bhattarai was injured when the car tried to run over him while he was attempting to stop the vandals. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. After the cadres vandalized the vehicle, the police team immediately reached the spot and provided security, and controlled the crowd.
