The statues of the Martyrs Birendra Bichha and Rajesh Thakur placed at Golambar in Prakauli Chowk of Jaleshwor Municipality-9 was found broken in a pond about 100 meters east of Golambar in Mahottari. Both the statues were found with their heads broken.
Police said that the incident was sensitive and the case is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, Mayor of Jaleshwor Municipality Ram Shankar Mishra has demanded strict action against the person who broke the statue. He said that no political party could be involved in the incident as all political parties have respect for the martyrs and urged the locals not to be angry till the culprit is found.
