Cadres of the Dahal-Nepal faction of ruling NCP deployed to enforce the day-long general strike have assaulted reporters covering the protests.
Keshav Raj Joshi, who works for online news portal shilapatra.com and was reporting the strike related events, was physically assaulted by Dahal-Nepal cadres in Koteshwar.
According to Joshi, the assaulters accused him of reporting in Oli's favour. They also damaged his camera.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the Central Protest Committee, leader of the group Bishnu Rijal apologised for the incident. "We apologise for the inconveniences arising out of the incident and would like to clarify that it was unintentional."
Similarly, another video has surfaced wherein a TV reporter -- Diwakar Sah -- is chased and manhandled by protesters.
