28-year-old Manish Aryal, a local of Mahottari, was arrested on the charge of assaulting a teacher (Dalit) in Mahottari. Aryal pelted stones at Netra Bahadur Ramtel, former headmaster and current teacher of Janata Secondary School at Gauridanda in Bardibas-3 of Mahottari saying that a Dalit man like him cannot become the headmaster.

Aryal further punched Ramtel in the head and tore his shirt and coat.  The locals took the accused under control from the school and handed him over to the police. On the way, he tricked the police and fled. The villagers then went to the area police office demanding the arrest of the accused and stern action.
