Two businessmen, Rabin Giri and Uttam Shrestha, in Gauradaha, Jhapa, were brutally beaten by the police without any reason on their way home from a shop in Gauradaha-1 on March 23. They alleged that the policeman had consumed alcohol.
Police hit them with sticks and their boots; Giri was hit in the leg, knee and back. Shrestha, however, did not show any external injuries. However, he said that he was suffering from head and body pains. They accused the police of committing atrocities.
