Human Rights and Peace Society staged a protest in front of the United Nations (UN) office in Lalitpur, calling for an end to the killings and repression in Myanmar on March 30. By issuing a press release, they also urged the UN to take effective steps to stop the killings and repression. The press release states "The Society for Human Rights and Peace urges the United Nations to take effective action to stop the killings and repression by Myanmar's military."
Myanmar's military "coup" has drawn criticism worldwide. More than 400 protesters have been killed since the military seized power in February.
