Human Rights and Peace Society staged a demonstration in Bouddha, Kathmandu on April 7 wearing black blindfolds and carrying candles, demanding protection, peace and restoration of democracy for the citizens of Myanmar (Burma).
Krishna Pahadi, founder President of Peace Society, President Govind Khanal, Advisor Uttam Pudasaini, Former President Homkant Chaulagai, Vice President Ratnalakshmi Shrestha, General Secretary Ram Krishna Baral, Treasurer Jagannath Pudasaini, Central Member Chandramani Banjara, Rights Activists Geeta Timalsina, Durga Rana, Uma Gautam, Rupa Giri, Rose Bista, Nanikaji Giri, Ishwar Pudasaini, Kiran Dhakal, Yadu Khatiwada and 5 dozen other peace activists participated in the demonstration.
The Peace Society has been protesting the ongoing repression and killings in Myanmar and has organized more than 20 demonstrations in various districts.
