Tanahu police arrested 50-year-old Ait Singh Gurung of Aabukhaireni rural municipality-5 on the charge of beating 12-year-old Shishir Gurung to death on April 6. A preliminary investigation revealed that Shishir died due to an injury to his genitals.
Police started the investigation on the basis of information that the Gurung's body was being buried. According to the District Police Office, the body was exhumed and sent to Gandaki Institute of Health Sciences, Pokhara for postmortem examination. The police are investigating the case against Ait Singh.
