Police attacked Journalist Kedar Dahal while collecting news about an Indian national who had come to collect a 'No Objection Letter' in front of the Indian Embassy on April 13. Dahal works for Naya Patrika Dainik and is a member of the Kathmandu branch of the Nepal Press Union (NPU).
The Kathmandu branch of NPU issued a statement condemning the incident of mistreatment of journalist Kedar Dahal. Chairman Jagganath Dulal said that the atrocity committed by the Nepal Police on journalist Dahal was not only an attack on a journalist but also interference in the freedom of press and expression.
