Journalists, who went to cover the incident of inhumane treatment of a woman on the charge of witchcraft, have been abused. Surendra Kumar Kamati, the journalist of Naya Patrika and Shubhnarayan Kamati, Avenues Siraha correspondent, were mistreated by a local Ram Chandra Sah. Sah wanted to settle the incident in the village, but after the team of journalists arrived, he verbally abused and threatened to beat the journalists.
Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Siraha has condemned the incident. FNCCI Siraha president Manoj Banita has demanded action against the accused of attacking the independent press.
