6-year-old boy goes missing in Mahottari, family suspects abduction

A 6-year-old boy has gone missing since May 18 from his home in Sonama rural Municipality-4, Mahottari district. The victim’s family member had informed Area Police Office, Gausala, and Khesaraha Police Station about the incident. The family members suspected that their child might have been abducted. However, no calls and threats for ransom have been reported so far.

Sangita Devi Mahato, the boy's mother, was working at home on the day of the incident, while Champa Devi, the boy's grandmother, was in the barn. According to the grandmother, she had no suspicions when she saw a stranger take the baby away and assumed they were out to play. However, the search started after the child did not come home until late. The child is being sought by the police in collaboration with Indian security forces on the other side of the border. But the search began after the child did not return home until late. The police are searching for the child in coordination with the Indian security forces across the border.
