A scuffle broke out between neighbors regarding the land issue in Janakpurdham Ward No. 18. Dipendra Mandal alleged that nine persons, including his neighbor Chandeshwor Mukhiya, had beaten him on May 18 over an old dispute regarding the shop operation with the intent of killing him. He also alleged that he had beaten and injured people including his uncle who had come to rescue him using wooden planks and bamboo sticks.
Four people were injured in the scuffle where the condition of one of the injured is critical. Among the injured, Dipendra Mandal has sustained serious injuries including head, chest, and face while Mandal's own uncle Hansraj Mandal has sustained serious head injuries. Similarly, Lutan Mukhiya has broken his arm while Lalit Mandal's condition is normal. Meanwhile, Mandal's family has filed a petition at the District Police Office demanding an investigation into the incident and action against the culprit.
