Youths affiliated with the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and YCL burnt the effigies of the Prime Minister and the President in Ratnanagar, Chitwan on May 22. They allege that President Bidhyadevi Bhandari dissolved parliament on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli and that it was an unconstitutional move.
On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, President Bidhyadevi Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives on May 21 at midnight and announced mid-term elections on November 12 and November 19. The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and various organizations close to the Center have started a nationwide agitation against this decision.
