NSU burnt effigies of President and PM in Kathmandu

The Nepal Students' Union (NSU) burnt the effigies of President Bidhyadevi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Kalanki on May 23 protesting the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Police intervened in their demonstration and scattered the effigies. President Bhandari dissolved parliament unconstitutionally at midnight on May 21 on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli. The Congress, Maoist Center, UML, JSP, Janamorcha, and other parties and their sister organizations have come out in protest against Bhandari and Oli's move.
