Youth association of CPN (UML) burns effigies of opposition leaders in Janakpur

The youth association affiliated with the ruling party CPN (UML) burnt the effigies of the main leaders of five opposition parties in Janakpur on May 25 accusing them of opposing the citizenship ordinance issued by the government. They burnt the effigies of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, and JSP Federal Council Chairman Baburam Bhattarai.
There is support and protest in Terai against the citizenship ordinance issued by President Bidhyadevi Bhandari, on May 23. There was a scuffle between police and protestors during the protest.
