Sangkhuwasabha/July 13 Nearly 100 children of Kimathanka VDC, bordering Tibet, have been deprived of regular vaccines for the last two months due to the closure of the local health post. The locals have demanded the resumption of vaccination for the children of the area. They informed that they met CDO on July 6 asking for effective health services in the village. The health center, with nine postings, has only Assistant Health Workers Ganesh Singh but even he remains at the district headquarters most of the time affecting the people’s access to service, a local Tenchhebi Sherpa said. Another Dawa Sherpa complained that even for minor health problems that they are forced to go to Chinese territory or to Kathmandu in chartered helicopter. Responding to INSEC query on the issue, District Health Office Chief Madan Kumar Upadhyaya pledged that services at the Kimathanka health post would resume immediately as they were planning to recruit the health workers it.
