PM Oli and Deputy PM Mahato effigies burnt in Dang

The All-Revolutionary District Committee affiliated with the CPN (Maoist Center) burnt the effigies of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister Rajendra Mahato in Dang on June 6. They stage the protest demanding repeal of the unconstitutional move of Prime Minister Oli, amendment of the Citizens' Bill, stopping the decision of exploitation of Chure, and immediate correction of the Deputy Prime Minister's statement against the national interest.

A police team deployed from the District Police Office, Dang intervened in their torch rally, snatched the burnt effigies, and dispersed the protestors. Student leaders also chanted slogans against the police intervention. Eight student leaders, including Jung Roka, coordinator of ANNFSU Revolutionary Dang, were arrested on the charge of burning the effigies.
