Sunsari/July 14, Shambhu Rajbanshi, 43, of Prakashpur VDC-3 has been remanded in regional prison Jhumka by the order of District Court on charge of killing 12-year-old daughter. Judge Khadananda Tiwari handed down the verdict on July 14. Eight locals including neighbor Bijay Chandrabanshi had filed a case against him at the Area Police Office Mahendranagar on June 19 accusing him of killing his 12-year-old daughter Soni Chandrabanshi. The accused was arrested the same day and charged with murder. Body of Soni, who was missing since May 16, was found four days later at a local maize field. Autopsy of the deceased was performed at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan on May 20.
