The CPN (Maoist Centre) cadres staged a protest rally in Saptari under the leadership of Ashok Kumar Mandal, District Chairman of the CPN (Maoist) Center, demanding justice in the writ petition filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives and restoration of the parliament. The protestors marched around the Shiva Temple in Rajbiraj and ended in front of the court.
President Bidyadevi Bhandari had announced the dissolution of the parliament on May 21 on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli. The Supreme Court is debating the issue filed jointly by the Nepali Congress, the CPN (Maoist Center), the Janata Samajwadi Party, the CPN (UML), the Madhav Nepal faction, and the Rashtriya Janamorcha, alleging that the move is unconstitutional.
