12 protestors arrested during a demonstration for Savita Bhandari's justice

Police intervened in the demonstration staged by National Volunteers Nepal (NVP) at Maitaghar Mandala demanding justice for Savita Bhandari of Chitwan, who committed 'suicide' due to domestic violence.
Police have arrested 12 people, including Sanjiv Thagunna, NVP's coordinator, who participated in the protest. They have been taken to Mahendra Police Club, Bhrikuti Mandap. The relatives of the victim (Savita) accuse that she was sexually assaulted and murdered by her father-in-law. The matter is being investigated after videos of sexual violence against Savita surfaced on social media.
