Province 1, Okhaldhunga, Champadevi, Ward 3
Two sons were barred from attending their 70-year-old father Mitra Bahadur Tamang's burial in Champadevi Rural Municipality-3, Tapkedanda, saying that they did inter-caste marriage. Tamang died at home on June 12.
The sons, Shankar and Pradip, have complained that the ward chairperson did not allow the community to see their father's face. After hearing the news of his father's death, Shankar had reached home from Dhading and younger Pradip from Kathmandu. But when they arrived at their father's funeral site, they were also barred from burying.
