July 17, District Police Office has claimed that UCPN-M district member, Bimal Shahi alias Tiger had looted Rs 2 million meant for distribution of social security allowance in Gotri VDC. Police quoted VDC secretary Rajesh Ray Yadav as saying that some unidentified men threw chili powder on his eyes and taking away the amount he was taking to the VDC for distribution in Gotri VDC-8 on July 16. Inspector Hikmat Bohora of DPO said that they concluded the man responsible for the robbery being Tiger after assessing the description provided by Yadav. The money being distributed was eight month worth allowance for elderly, poor, single women and disabled. Two years ago, Rs 8.7 million being carried by Jagannath VDC secretary was also looted. Gotri VDC is situated at a distance of two days of walk from the district headquarters.
