Police arrested 40-year-old Dayalu Tajpuriya of Sunwarshi Municipality-4 on the charge of stoning his 68-year-old  father Tintal Tajpuriya to death in a general domestic dispute over alcohol consumption on June 26.

Tintal, who was critically injured in the attack, was brought to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment. He was referred to another hospital saying the treatment was not possible but was taken home in critical condition. He died due to his family's poor financial condition as they could not afford further treatment.

According to the police, the son started making noise at night after consuming alcohol. A general dispute between the father and the son escalated and Dayalu, who was angry after the dispute, threw a stone at his father while he was sleeping
