The Photo Journalist Club has demanded action against police who were involved in assaulting photo journalist Nimesh Jung Rai of Nepallive on Saturday evening while he was covering a report of torchy rally organized by five-party alliance students. Photo journalist Rai sustained serious injury on his knee when police baton-charged at the protest. The Photo Journalists club issuing a statement stated that the police had deliberately attacked Rai although they knew that he was a journalist. They also drew the attention of the government towards the repeated incident of police violence on journalists during the course of their work and demanded action against those involved.
