Employees affiliated with the trade union padlocked up the Nepal Airlines corporation saying that there is a conspiracy to disband the corporation by transforming it into a private company. The administration tried to break the lock by calling the Nepal Police, but there was a scuffle after the employees protested. An employee informed that the corporation was trying to disperse the protesters by mobilizing police.
The corporation already submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation by amending the management letter and regulations. Employees have drawn the attention of Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel today. There is a stand of the employees that they will not allow the corporation to be privatized under any circumstances.
