Navin Buda, the son of Sinja rural municipality-6 ward chairperson Kali Bahadur Budha, is accused of assaulting a local Dalit youth who commented on his father's interview in various media on transportation and drinking water and other issues.

According to the victim, Birendra Nepali, the ward chairperson also insulted and threatened him on the phone. Then he was called to the chairman's office on June 22 at 4 pm to discuss the remarks made about his interview. The victim Nepali said that the ward chairperson was humiliating him about his caste.  While the discussion was going on, he said that Navin, the son of the ward president, came and slapped him. According to Birendra, the police refused to register the complaint regarding racial discrimination and beating.
