Leaders and cadres of Nepali Congress (NC) Bara stage a sit-in protest at the party's central office in Sanepa on July 11 putting forward six-point demands. Some demands include the immediate distribution of active membership and revokement of active memberships that were issued without the recommendation of the ward committee.
Leaders and cadres of all four constituencies participated in the sit-in, said Rajesh Rauniyar, the former Joint General Minister of the Nepal Students Union. He said that there was rigging in the distribution of active membership in Bara. Former MPs Ram Ayodhya Yadav, Lal Babu Singh, and two dozen other leaders and activists participated in the protest. The active membership investigation committee of the Nepali Congress is working to finalize the membership. The names of eight and a half lakh active members from all 77 districts have been made public.
