A woman has been found dead at her office in Ilam of eastern Nepal. Bimala Parajuli (48), a permanent resident of Solukhumbu, was working as an office assistant at the Ilam bench of the Biratnagar High Court in Province 1. But, she was found dead within the office premises this morning, informs SP Mahendra Shrestha of the District Police Office. The body, lying prone, does not have any injury, according to him. Shrestha says further investigation is underway. Police are preparing to mobilise sniffer dogs also in the probe.

According to the police, the 35-year-old ASI Yubraj Baniya, who was the security guard of the Chief Justice in the same court, strangled the woman to death. District Police Chief SP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha said that Baniya had confessed to the murder but did not confess the rape charges. It has been revealed that there was a relationship between the deceased Parajuli and the accused.
The accused has given a statement that he killed the woman by strangling her and dragged her out after a dispute over a money transaction. The gold chain worn by the woman was found in the room of the accused. According to the police, the accused had killed the woman on July 11and left the body inside the residence of the Chief Justice. After the incident, he came back and dragged the body out to make sure that she was dead.
