The dead body of Ritesh Kumar, a five-year-old son of Chandra Kishore Yadav of Ramgopalpur Municipality-6 in Mahottari, who has been missing since July 28, was found covered with a pile of straw in a garden 40 meters away from his house. The death, according to police, was suspicious, and an investigation is underway. The body was sent to the Janakpur Provincial Hospital for an autopsy. Police arrested the absconding father and step-mother on the charge of their involvement in the child's murder The deceased's stepmother was unreachable since July 28, and Chandra Kishor, who went to look for her son, was also incommunicado, according to police.
Seven years ago, Chandra Kishor married Rajni Yadav. Rajni is the mother of two sons. Rajini left her two sons in the care of her father after Chandra Kishor married Ragani Mukhiya for the second time a year ago. Locals suspect that the eldest son was murdered by his relatives after his body was discovered in suspicious condition.
