Nineteen people were injured in a clash between parents and administration of Shree Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Bisunpurwa in Madhavnarayan Municipality-4 of Rautahat district over the issue over the issue of student's enrolment on August 1. A video posted on social media shows people hitting each other with bamboo sticks.
Police arrested one person from each side on the charge of the main feud. According to Rautahat Police, the arrested are local Ramkalewar Mukhiya and Dilip Bhandari. The clash erupted after a dispute erupted between the parents and the headmaster regarding the admission form. There was a controversy after the headmaster refused to admit the children saying that there was no photo in the form and the parents' signatures were not correct.
Eight members of the school's teachers and management committee and 11 parents were injured in the clash. One of the injured has been referred to Kathmandu and two others are undergoing treatment at Terai Hospital in Birgunj, police said.
