Tara Devi Paswan, a ward member of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolis-27 of Bara was beaten by a group of locals including local Joginder Sah. The group tied Paswan to a pole and assaulted her on the charge of helping a woman in the village to elope with another man. She was rescued and admitted to Kalaiya Hospital for treatment, said Gautam Mishra. According to the police, eight people involved in the attack are arrested and a case is filed in the Bara District Court against the indecent and inhumane treatment.
