Six years of Tikapur incident marked by demonstration in Kailali

On the 6th anniversary of the Tikapur incident in Kailali, the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)  staged a protest on August 23 demanding the release of the prisoners of the Tikapur incident in Baliya of Kailali. The party, which has been celebrating August 23 and 24 as a black day, staged a protest rally from Bhalka Chowk to Baliya Chowk. The UDMF demanded the dismissal of the Tikapur case and the unconditional release of political prisoners, including suspended MP from Kailali Constituency No. 1, Resham Chaudhary.

Similarly, demonstrations were held demanding full proportional representation of the Tharu community in every state's body, the establishment of Tharuhat province from Kanchanpur to Nawalparasi, and making the report of the Girish Chandra Lal Commission public.
