A group of unidentified people has attacked Nepali Congress youth wing Tarun Dal's deputy ward-chairperson of Birendra Nagar Ward-1 in Surkhet, Santosh Giri with sharp weapons on Friday, informed Police.
According to Tarun Dal Surkhet district chairperson Hari Bista, a group of motorcycle-borne men attacked Bista with a cleaver, injuring him seriously. The cause of the incident is understood to have been a dispute that started at a hotel on Thursday evening. The identity of the attackers have not been revealed yet. Giri is undergoing treatment at Maya Nursing home in Birendranagar.
