Laliman Giri, 45, of Jitpur VDC-8, Ilam has been arrested by police on August 3 under the charge of human trafficking when he was allegedly taking a 16-years-old girl abroad in the pretext of meeting father. Giri was arrested at Bhanjyang on a tip off as he was in the process of reserving the vehicle to take him and the girl to India. During the interrogation, the girl said that she had been promised of uniting with her father working abroad and buying her a mobile phone set. The girl’s mother filed a complaint on August 3 accusing him of human trafficking. The girl has reunited with her family while Giri has been in custody. K
