On the occasion of the United Nations Foundation Day, Human Rights and Peace Society(Manab Adhikar Tatha Shanti Samaj) staged a demonstration in Maitighar demanding to take action for the security of citizens of Afghanistan and protect their human rights and freedom.  The demonstrators chanted slogans and displayed placards.

Shanti Samaj Advisor Uttam Pudasaini, Founder Member Krishna Kandel, Vice President Ratnalakshmi Shrestha, General Secretary Ram Krishna Baral, Former Deputy President Renuka Poudel, Secretary Namrata Kharel, Appeal Committee Coordinator Bal Bahadur Gaha Magar, Kathmandu Branch Acting President Bhagwan Pudasaini and Chitwan Branch President Shambhu Raut, former central treasurer Batukrishna Dhungel, former central member Geeta Timalsina and other activists were present at the demonstration. 

Similarly, the Chitwan, Dang and Rupandehi branches of the Peace Society have staged a demonstration on the occasion of the United Nations Foundation Day. Speaking at a rally in Butwal, Central President Govinda Khanal said the Taliban regime was synonymous with cruelty and stressed that the United Nations should take special initiatives to protect the human rights of Afghan citizens.
