Police in the Ilam district of eastern Nepal have arrested a man on the charge of killing his wife and daughter. The accused is Kamal Tamang aka Purna Chandra (33), a resident of Barung, Deumai municipality-5 of the Ilam district.
As per the preliminary report, Tamang had bitten various body parts including the necks of his wife Sita (34) and daughter Shiksha (16), during treatment as per his shamanistic practice on Tuesday morning. But, the two died during the process, claim the police.
After being informed of the incident, a team from the Gajurmukhi-based Temporary Police Post had reached the incident site and arrested him.
Further investigation is underway, informs the Provincial Police Office in Biratnagar.
