Saptari/August 9 Govind Mandal, 35, of Rampur Jamuwa in Shambhunath Municipality-10 has sent a complaint to the police office through post seeking action against those involved in the killing of Urmila Devi Mandal, 48, of Simraha Singyaun VDC-6. Saying that police refused to register the complaint, Govind, a relative of Urmila sent the complaint to the District Police Office on August 8 through the Rajbiraj-based post office. Body of Urmila was found with her severed head and cut injuries in hand and feet near the banks of Koshi canal in Pipra of Belhi Chapena VDC-9 on July 28. Post-mortem of the body was conducted in Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj Municipality-3. Basudev, husband of the deceased had passed away on January 2014. Basudev has four daughters from his first wife and 1 daughter from Urmila. Dispute had taken place regarding sharing of property among the two wives and daughters. Both sides engaged in altercation at the meeting called at Police security base camp in Paththargadha VDC on July 27. Urmila was killed while she was heading towards home of Jit Narayan Mandal, her son-in-law following the altercation. Though police said that the case was lodged following complaint by the daughter of the deceased, no one has been arrested for investigation. Meanwhile, relatives of Urmila said that the police had only interrogated her daughter verbally and no written complaint had been lodged.
