Five injured in a clash between two factions of Nepali Congress while counting the votes in Rupandehi

Two fractions clashed in Rupandehi on November 19 during the convention of provincial assembly electorate organized for the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress leaving 5 party cadres injured. 

The clash happened while counting the votes of the Province 3(ka) electorate at Bhairahwa in Siddhartha Municipality. A group of youth attacked while counting the votes as Puran Shrestha from the Ram Chandra Poudel faction lead the election results.  Regional Secretary, Shailesh Panta of the Poudel panel was seriously injured due to the attack and is being treated at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal. Puran Shrestha mentioned that a group of youth entered the counting location by closing the generator and started the attack after their side's loss was confirmed. 

The counting of votes has stalled after the attack. The party cadres are in the election race at all the constituencies of Rupandehi forming separate panels under President Sher Bahadur Deuba and  Poudel.
