Man arrested on the charge of involvement in Human Trafficking in Kathmandu

Police arrested Santa Bir Lama, a 36-year-old man of Nawalparasi Deuchuli municipality-17, on the charge of involvement in human trafficking. The accused was arrested after his suspicious activities, such as claiming himself as the lama of Mudgol Lama camp Number 1 Syar Gaden Monastery situated at India Karnatak state to two students Seto Gumba. Santa lured the two students studying lama saying that they can get a better opportunity if they study in India. 

He was arrested by the on-duty police after he was informed that his activities were suspicious while he was writing a letter to the ward office of Sindhuli on the letter pad of Sar Gaden Buddhist Culture Association recommending to take two students to Karnataka, India. He even applied for the birth certificate of the two students.

According to the police investigation, the accused has trafficked many children from different districts by claiming that he'd take them to India and the accused has kept more children aged 10-14 in Jhugo Kadampa Gumba. The children were rescued by the police from the Police Headquarters, Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau, Baber Mahal.
