The cadres have put pressure on the Ram Chandra Poudal group to decide on a common candidacy from their group in the 14th General Convention. On November 7, senior leader Poudel, general secretary Prakash Man Singh and central member Dr Shekhar Koirala were holding discussions at the residence of former general minister Prakash Man Singh in Chaksibari. While the leaders were discussing, a group from the General Convention staged a demonstration at Singh's residence, pressuring him to select a common candidacy for the presidency. They displayed placards saying that there is no alternative to a common candidacy, only unity is the basis of victory.
