Police arrested the duo including the wife of the deceased, accused of murdering 39-year-old Chhewang Lama. The body of Lama was recovered in a suspicious state on December 6 near the Gumba at Jugal rural municipality-3 in Sindhupalchowk. Initial investigation from District Police Office- Sindhupalchowk pointed towards the involvement of Lama's wife, 28-year-old Nima Sangmo Tamang. Police also arrested a local,  36-year-old Kanchalal Lama of Jugal-3 after his involvement was uncovered during the investigation. 

The duo committed the crime after an illicit relationship between them came to the knowledge of Chhewang. Police have claimed that, the duo murdered Chhewang by charging stones. Further investigation is ongoing after addition of 7 days of custodial period from the court.
