Police arrested 19-year-old Arjun Rai on the charge of stabbing his brother-in-law to death in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 4. The deceased is identified as 51-year-old Murari Giri.
According to Sunsari spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Karki, Rai was mentally unwell and was kept at Giri's house for treatment. According to Karki, Rai had stabbed Giri in the chest at around 4.30 pm on December 14. Giri was rushed to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment and died at 7 pm.
