Two including ward chairperson candidate from Congress injured as CPN-UML and Congress cadres clash in Surkhet; 2 round tear gas fired

Nepali Congress (NC) candidate for Ward Chairperson Upendra Singh and his cadre Suraj Singh Thakuri were injured in an attack by CPN-UML cadres in Simta Rural Municipality-6 of Surkhet on May 5, Thursday night. Around fifty CPN-UML cadres attacked the NC candidate Singh who was at Rakam Bazar with his supporter.  Police fired 2 rounds of tear gas to prevent the situation from escalating. Acting chief of Karnali Province Police, SSP Rajeshnath Bastola stated that police are investigating the incident.
