Nepali Congress candidate attacked in Gulmi's Dhurkot

Three persons including ward chairperson candidate from Nepali Congress for Dhurkot rural municipality-4 Gopal Thapa were injured after being attacked by cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) in Gulmi on election day.
Two others Niraj Kuwar and Sanjay Nepali sustained injury in the attack. The injured were sent to Gulmi district hospital for treatment according to SP Bhim Prashad Dahal of DPO Gulmi.
Police arrested 6 persons on the charge of being involved in the attack. According to Congress candidate for chairperson of the rural municipality Mahendra Bhandari Maoist Center cadres attacked Congress cadres while they were accompanying election staffs ferrying ballot boxes. Maoist Center has claimed that the incident was personal and not political.
