Sudip Rai, a 35-year-old cadre of CPN (Maoist Center) died after sustaining serious injury during a clash between the cadres of Nepali Congress and Maoist Center on May 13 in Sotang rural municipality of Solukhumbu.
The clash was sparked by a dispute when Nepali Congress cadres accused CPN-UML cadres of carrying an elderly woman to polling station but leaving her stranded after voting. According to the police, Rai sustained serious head injury after being hit with a stone by Congress cadres. Rai died while undergoing treatment. Police started investigation in to the incident by arresting 3 persons, according to DSP Sunil Jung Shah of DPO Solukhumbu.
