Seven injured in clash between the cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepali Congress in Jumla during vote counting

The counting of the votes was disrupted in Tatopani rural municipality-3 of Jumla on May 15 when the cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepali Congress clashed by pelting stones at each other. After the results of the counting of votes including the ward chairperson of Tatopani rural municipality-3 became public, there was a dispute between the cadres and supporters of the CPN (Maoist Center) and the Nepali Congress. Nepali Congress alleged that the cadres of CPN (Maoist Center first hurled the stone at their cadres. 

Dharma Rawal and Rampyari Rawal were injured in the clash. Similarly, seven persons, including Ganesh Shahi were injured and are undergoing treatment at Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Jumla, according to the police hospital unit.

According to the Office of the election Officer, Gokarna Rawal of Nepali Congress won the post of ward chairperson of Tatopani-3. In the ward, Rawal won with 433 votes while Maoist candidate Dilli Rawal lost with 364 votes.
