Seven injured in a clash between cadres of Laxman Prasad Burma, newly elected ward chairperson of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City Ward 17 from Nepali Congress and cadres of incumbent ward chairperson Ajay Pathak on May 19. Nepali Congress leader Badhshah Kurmi accused UML cadres of attacking Congress' victory rally. They allegedly took control of the winning ward chairperson and attacked his cadres seriously injuring seven of them. Pathak's candidacy for ward chairperson was cancelled after a complaint. He accused Congress of using state power to cancel his candidacy.
